NAHMAnalysis: Two Reports Examine the Impact of COVID-19 on Housing Providers and Service Coordinators

NAHMA published a NAHMAnalysis, Recent Research Highlights the Impact of COVID-19 on Housing Providers and Their Operations. Over the past few months, research has documented the COVID-19 pandemic’s adverse impact on housing providers and their operations, particularly resulting in increased costs and reduced revenue. Based on three recent reports from NDP|Analytics and the National Leased Housing Association, Leading Age and the Urban Institute, this NAHMAnalysis highlights the key findings to better understand the impacts of the pandemic on affordable housing providers. NAHMA has published an additional NAHMAnalysis, based on a new report from Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies, titled For Older Adults in Publicly Funded Housing during the Pandemic, Service Coordinators Help Build Resilience. This NAHMAnalysis examines how service coordinators’ priorities and work-lives changed during the pandemic and summarizes results from a survey conducted between June 23 and July 17, 2020, exploring the experiences of these service coordinators during the early months of COVID-19 and how service coordinators provided support beyond their normal responsibilities to help residents remain self-sufficient.
