NAHMA HUD Update: HUD Issues Several PIH Notices
Dear NAHMA Members,
Please find below, four recently published notices from HUD’s Office of Public and Indian Housing, titled PH HCV and Native Programs COVID-19 Waiver Summery Chart; Addressing Tenant Concerns Regarding Rent and the Temporary Suspension of Evictions for Nonpayment of Rent; CARES Act-HCV Program Administration Fees; and Implementation of Supplemental Guidance to the Federal FY2020 Operating Fund Appropriations.
The PH-HCV and Native Programs COVID-19 Waiver Summery Chart tracks Public Housing and Housing Choice Vouchers CARES Act waivers, alternative requirements and the availability period for each. The PH-HCV and Native Programs COVID-19 Waiver Summery Notice is attached and can be found HERE.
The Addressing Tenant Concerns Regarding Rent and the Temporary Suspension of Evictions for Nonpayment of Rent flyer provides Housing Choice Voucher, Public Housing, and Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation participants with information and resources about paying rent during the COVID-19 national emergency. The CARES Act-HCV Program Administration Fees Notice describes the administrative fee portion (totaling $850 million) for Housing Choice Voucher Programs, including the Mainstream Program, as well as HUD’s allocation methodology. The notice establishes new eligible activities to prevent, prepare for, or respond to coronavirus that may be funded with the administrative fee amounts. The Implementation of Supplemental Guidance to the Federal FY 2020 Operating Fund Appropriations Notice provides guidance on the allocation and eligible uses of Public Housing Operating funding provided under the CARES Act.
