A Comprehensive Course for Managers of Multi-Family Housing

The Fair Housing Compliance (FHC) course is a comprehensive program offered by the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) for property management staff. NAHMA’s Fair Housing Compliance course trains managers to understand complex fair housing regulations.

Each participant will receive a copy of the NAHMA Fair Housing manual, which was updated in 2016. The one-day program is composed of seven hours of classroom instruction an online “take home” exam. Individuals must pass this exam to obtain the FHC designation. The FHC is a requirement for NAHMA’s National Affordable Housing Professional (NAHP) certification program.

All participants who successfully complete the course will receive a FHC certificate and pin, and be listed in NAHMA’s Online Credential Directory.

It is encouraged that students bring a highlighter and post it flags.

Ms. Staggs brings knowledge from both sides of the industry. She is a 25-year veteran in the property management industry. She also managed both the PBCA Contract Administration and LIHTC Program Compliance departments for the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) and prior to that, she was a Project Manager with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Heather is an expert in Fair Housing regulations as well as all other affordable housing laws and regulations. Ms. Staggs is currently sits as the Chair person for the National Affordable Housing Management Association’s Fair Housing Committee. Her hands-on knowledge of applying the rules of the affordable housing industry assists management agents and owners across the country stay compliant with not only government agencies, but also with Fair Housing laws.

Cancellation Policy: Registration fees will be refunded less a $50 processing charge if received in writing ten (10) business days prior to the seminar. Substitutions, but no refunds, can be made after that date.
